唐代墓志中有大量近亲救助孤儿的例证。唐代近亲是民间救助孤儿的主体。唐代近亲救助孤儿的内容主要有生活接济、教育救助、婚丧救助等。唐代近亲对孤儿的救助大部分是通过民间个体自发性的行为实现的,缺乏必要的制度保障和相应的监督措施;唐代近亲对孤儿的救助在民间救助孤儿中发挥着主要作用,尤其是外亲和女性的救助在唐代表现得更为明显;唐代近亲对孤儿的救助呈现出多元化的特点;唐代近亲对于孤儿的救助往往与救助寡妇连在一起;唐代近亲救助孤儿存在不稳定性,主要依靠近亲内若干主干家庭的经济实力,一旦这些家族没落后,救助就难以保障,而且在救助的过程中物质生活方面给予救助偏多,精神层面的关注较少。
