1948年1月,缅甸脱离英国独立,拉开了英国撤离东南亚的序幕,但英国的殖民撤离并不像其吹嘘的那样,即英国是有步骤、有计划地撤离东南亚。实际上,在英国撤离缅甸后不久,英国在马来亚便挑起一场大规模镇压马共的战争,面对国际形势的变化,特别是面对马共的武装斗争和马来人为主体争取宪政的斗争,英国采用积极务实的政策,选择主动的撤离方式,较成功地解决了马来亚独立问题。
Abstract：Burma got rid of Britain and won independence in Jan 1948.It started the process of Britain's withdrawing from Southeast Asia,but Britain's colonial withdrawal didn't sound that Britain retreated from Southeast Asia according to its plan and step,Britain began a war against Malayan Communist Party as soon as it retreated from Burma.Britain took positive measures and made its option to grant Malaya independence under the Britain Commonwealth of Nations,meeting changing situation,facing fight from Malaya Communist Party and Malay constitutional road.
